They say ‘if it ain’t broke don’t fix it’ but who would dismiss a timely little nip and tuck? The London EDITION has performed a little maintenance to its Lobby Bar menu, without sacrificing familiarity, featuring a raft of new drinks and bar snacks…
WE’LL DRINK TO THAT!
With head bartender Robyn Wilkie at the helm, the Lobby Bar’s creative team has concocted an inspiring array of new cocktails, featuring the perfect mixture of fresh new recipes and returning classics.
Highlights include the Havana Moon: a thoughtful twist on the popular classic, made with Havana 7, caramel stout and walnut bitters, promising to be a Lobby Bar exclusive. With other new additions including Twice Pickled, made with pickled turnip Belvedere, lemon juice and Suze honey; and the one-of-a-kind Clara Boone, concocted from EDITION’s personal selection of Jack Daniels Single Barrel-aged with grapefruit, sherbet and cherry – mixed into a sour with Kummel and Peychaud bitters, priced at £14.
However, loyal drinkers need not despair, as mainstays like the Clearer Colada; think Coconut fat-washed Havana Club 3yo and pineapple cordial; and Beauty and the Beasant with Sierra Nevada pale ale & tamarind syrup live on to see another day. Food and drink aside, the new menu also notes the removal of all straws from its drinks with plastic straws being one of the biggest single use plastic pollution offenders.
Head Bartender Robyn Wilkie comments: ‘With this latest menu change we wanted to put a modern and indulgent twist on traditional bar snack staples, such as wings and croquettes, mirroring The London EDITION’s fusion of old and new, past and present. By revamping these staples with ingredients such as truffle, sesame and salsa verde, we plan to bring out a whole new side to those bar snacks you know and love.’
FOOD FOR THOUGHT…
Loyal to the theme of variety, Phil Carmichael, Head Chef of award winning Berners Tavern restaurant, has upped the ante with this latest bar snack offering.
With the addition of small plates such as truffle and gruyerè croquettes (£11) and soy sesame Korean fried wings (£10), the Lobby Bar’s new menu is sure to provide the perfect evening bite to compliment guests’ drinks of choice. Available to order from 5pm until 11pm, let spicy prawn rolls with salsa verde and crispy shallots (£9), and mini Berners Tavern mac and cheese (£8) – with the optional addition of braised beef blade – indulge you from afternoon to evening, during these colder early months.

WORK HARD, PLAY HARD…
A twist on a traditional hotel space, Lobby Bar was conceived for both work and play. Eclectic art, including a stainless steel orb reflecting the entire scene, is paired with iconic British and European design elements.
And connections, real and virtual, are encouraged with a communal table and complimentary Wi-Fi. The bar offers a wide variety of cocktails, drinks and snacks and overlooks intimate seating areas with tufted sofas and a billiards table.
