SIMBA: Making sleep great again!

SIMBA: Making sleep great again!

A good night’s sleep is heaven sent. With our hectic lives, sleep is a daily luxury we need to get right. After all, we do spend a third of our lives in bed … And for many of us it’s a sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of life – our time to escape and dream about a more restful time and of course take care of our general wellbeing.

I’d recently taken a step on the property ladder, so it was important for me to start the next chapter of my life right for both myself and my guests. So, having bought the perfect bed frame by renowned British brand Brissi, I needed to ensure the rest of my bedroom space was stress free and tranquil. I had a Scandinavian minimal theme in mind, and so far the chosen bed frame, bespoke lights from Glow Lighting, furnishings and overall mono colour scheme was contributing to that.

Next step was to pick the key players; mattress, duvet and pillows, which are perhaps the most used items in the bedroom… Simba, had come up in conversations several times – I had friends mention the brand so I was curious to check it out.  This British brand has been promising to revolutionise the way people sleep by creating an innovative “one-type-fits-all” bed, so I thought I’d give it a go and see whether it lives up to its claims.

It arrived cleverly rolled and perfectly packed in its box so there was no need for awkward manoeuvers in the hallway or navigating the stairs which are no fun at all when moving. What’s more, Simba are so confident in their product that they offer a 100-night no hassle return service. With that in mind, I decided to take the challenge and give it a whirl.

We’re told its cutting-edge innovative technology is the result of over 80 prototypes designed to offer the comfort of five layers of memory foam with the support of 2,500 patented conical pocket springs. The springs apparently make them unique, moving horizontally and vertically to fit the shape of your body and give you the best sleep.

The good news is it lives up! Admittedly we had a rough few days in the beginning but once we thinned out the pillows (we got the outlast and feather ones), sleep came easy and hassle free. The mattress was a dream once we settled into it and a good balance of supportive and cushioning which gently envelopes your body. And if you have to share your bed with someone else, you can barely feel any disturbance if they are a nocturnal wriggler. Bed time was just as it should be in the winter months, cosy and warm and most importantly peaceful.

Simba Sleep comes in a variety of sizes including – single £399, small double or double £599, king £699, super king size £799, emperor £899. Each mattress comes with a 100-night sleep trial promise and a 10-year guarantee.

Brissi Boston double bed from £895

Bespoke lights from Glow Lighting from £160
