A fabulous new Spanish stallion has pitched up and revealed itself in Bloomsbury. The venue I am referring to is Salvador and Amanda, a beautiful new Tapas restaurant spread over two floors. Their stunning interior changes everywhere you look, a light holiday vibe, high chairs at the bar or more traditional tables on the ground floor, casual and fun, the perfect lunch catch-up. This is where I enjoyed my “mini” break to Spain!
I loved the colored walls and framed family pictures, some with a comical feel to them in their thick golden frames. You can follow their trail upstairs where you have a more formal design, jamon and knife at the ready, large clear windows, perfect for people watching or the occasional glance at the rocket speed cars outside. This second floor is more for the evening visitors.
Salvador & Amanda serves the finest quality Tapas, their philosophy is to source the best raw ingredients and prepare them without fuss. You know when you are experiencing the finest ingredients when the olives you consume remind you of your last trip to Spain. I would recommend trying a dish from each section of their menu, warm up your taste buds with their gordal olives and teruel Serrano ham.
Their killer dishes to try are their fresh pan-friend Spanish omelette, pan friend shell-off prawns with garlic and chilli, chorizo lollipops and ham croquettes. I especially liked their broccoli and almond side dishe too, although I have to have something green in front of me at all time! Top this all off with a glass of their Rioja and you sorted! This restaurant is definitely a hearty keeper!
