PACHAMAMA: Perfect for spending a lazy weekend brunching with friends

Peruvian-inspired restaurant and bar Pachamama (named after the goddess of fertility who presides over planting and harvesting) opened around a year ago in the heart of Marylebone and has been on our list to visit ever since. So, we were happy to finally make the trip to check out their new weekend brunch menu which offers bottomless Bellinis to help us while away a lazy Sunday afternoon.

We loved the decor and art work that adorn this casual yet buzzy restaurant, as soon as we enter we get a warm welcome from the friendly staff who make us feel at home, as if we really were in ‘mama’s kitchen’. The team at Pachamama are knowledgeable and are genuinely excited by the menu, our host even told us that he got involved with some of the cooking recently and learnt how to make some of the dishes from scratch – very impressive and a really nice personal touch.

Pachamama gives the traditional brunch menu a Peruvian twist using British ingredients which make for some very interesting but extremely tasty food options. We ordered their now perhaps signature Brunch Waffles, (gluten-free and freshly made to order with quinoa or sweet potato and a choice of six toppings), and can see why these are already proving so popular, the presentation, the flavours, they deliver exactly what is expected of a good waffle and we are left more than satisfied. We also ordered the Pollo a la brasa (half a free-range chicken, brined, marinated for two days, then charcoal grilled Peruvian style and served with house jerk sauce and ají amarillo mayonnaise), which was flavoursome and juicy, as chicken should be and perfect with a side order of sweet potato mash. The accompaning bottomless Bellinis helped us wash it all down, we chose a Chicha Morada Bellini to keep with the Peruvian theme (the other option is a classic).

The food here is divine, we had a mini feast at our table and every bite was delicious, the flavours just right and not too overpowering for a midday brunch. We can’t wait to go back and try more.

The Bottomless Bellini set menus include a snack, waffle and side with unlimited Bellinis for £39 or ceviche, brunch special, side or dessert with unlimited Bellinis for £46 we can’t recommend this enough, it’s a perfect way to spend a weekend with loved ones dining and chatting over a standout brunch offering in London.
