Number 177 is the latest instalment from The Number Group family. It’s an exciting new venture for the team behind the Hackney canal side haunt, Number 90.
Sitting in the heart of Hoxton, the bar-come-restaurant-come-gallery space opened recently to great acclaim. We went along to the launch night which showcased the best of 177’s assets.
Offering an extensive cocktail menu, the innovative list plays with old classics and newly bold creations. We supped on Fish Island cocktails which resembled Long Island Ice Teas. The Mama’s Milkshake was another highlight, the strawberry cream epitomises indulgence!
The food is similar to the Number 90 menu. A range of burgers cater to many needs with gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options. Lighter options include the Buddha Salad packed with quinoa, rainbow beetroot and avocado and desserts tempt the sweet tooth with brownies, ice cream and sorbet.
Number 177 will also exhibit a range of art within the space and the artist’s work will be available to buy online through The Number Group Gallery. Graffiti art adorning the back walls reflects the artistic ethos. Meanwhile exposed brick walls give the venue its typical East London charm.
Number 177 offers something for everyone with boozy book clubs, burlesque life drawing classes and a lot more in between. A great place to hang out and party, we recommend you get down there for a Fish Island ASAP!
