NOISILY FESTIVAL: Review

Having recently resurfaced from the Leicestershire countryside, a single statement overheard at last year’s festival perfectly summarised my festival experience; ‘The thing about Noisily, is that everybody gets it.’ Aside from the epic sensory exploration that Noisily provided, the synergy amongst festival-goers could be felt in every nook and cranny of Coney Woods.

The intimate, 3,500 capacity site was separated into two main parts – the Mind, Body & Soul area and Music Stages, which included a trippy disco ball-lined Treehouse Stage and a Leisure Centre that could rival a set from People Just Do Nothing. With the high-production aesthetics of Shangri-La, multiple interactive music and art installations across the grounds and donation-run five-man body massages for punters, Noisily is prepared to embrace every single guest with open arms, whilst sporting the loudest ‘I don’t give a fuck’ attitude in the same breath.

An anti-establishment festival with an eco-friendly heart, Noisily’s aim is to keep the festival genuinely interesting and low-scale for niche techo, dance and psytrance lovers as well as providing an eye-opening experience to those new to the festival. Although I’ll always choose my beloved Jagged Edge over a minimal house tune, the music at Noisily left me with a shuffle in my step rather than gagging for any lyric and a crescendo.

The Nosily Stage was a highlight of the weekend; providing upbeat melodies and mesmerising visuals that came alive amongst the trees. Offsetting the dusk-till-dawn activities with chilled vibes and chai lattes in the Mind, Body & Soul area, we relaxed during the day with heart opening yoga classes and workshops from The University of Life. With hammocks rigged between the treetops, a plethora of delicious vegan and carnivorous menu options on offer and cosy pods tucked away for watching capoeira, Noisily was the perfect mix of physical release and mental reinvigoration; a weekend not to be missed.

Super Early-Bird tickets for Noisily 2018 are now available online.
