This fall, The Savoy’s Beaufort Bar revealed a new menu that delves into the fabled history, dark drama and timeless romance embedded in the mysterious world of magic. Having launched this October, Interpreted Magic is a three-part menu that explores secrets, tales and tricks as it subtly journeys through the history and performance of magic through the ages. Sat in Le Pont de la Tour on a Friday night, I was suddenly drifting to a memory of dining at the River Cafe in New York. From the classic sophisticated decor, to the classic style of service and polished menu, this place reminds lots of the revered Manhattan spot. We’d settled into a window seat looking out on to the Thames, with the place embalmed in the warm glow of candle light. Lutyens Grill was previously the bank manager's office - The Ned, if you haven't been, ...

The latest location is situated a stones throw from the Central Criminal Court, more commonly known as the Old Bailey, making it the ninth location in London and quite possibly the biggest we've been too. We're unsure if it beats the Soho restaurant with more covers but it certainly looked like this one we wouldn't need to queue for.
