After living in New York I’m used to things being 24/7 but London is a little sleepier and things tend to shut prematurely. But that’s why Duck & Waffle is such a joy. A chic restaurant that runs around the clock with unbeatable views of the city. I had a friend flying in from Norway on a Friday night with a 8pm touchdown to Gatwick, which meant he wouldn’t get into town for at least 90 minutes. A giant Scotch Egg was rolling towards us. But this wasn't any old Scotch Egg. Instead of standard pork sausage meat, this seductive sphere - swiped with a smudge of mustard - had been fashioned out of venison. One opening in particular to note is Beer and Buns.

I have to say that I love the idea of groups of businessmen in snappy suits dribbling spicy pork belly down their pristine shirts after a day in the City – something AmeriKorean seems to be tailor-made for. There’s no denying it’s a messy eat, but as our waitress pointed out, it’s street food; it’s supposed to be that way.
