Clawing out of Liverpool Street Station (sideways), Crab Tavern is Broadgate Circles latest crustacean shrine, and otherwise seafood hotspot.
The New York style, all-day restaurant-bar offers a splendid selection of crab dishes as well as an array of divine non-crab, Americana classics.
On our visit we were able to sample some refined dishes from the classic grill and seafood selection. First up we sampled the signature “house special” sweet & savoury King crab brioche doughnuts which were very light and not nearly as odd as they sound!
Up next we tucked into the West coast “bucket boil” which was a steamy sea of crab claws, meaty mussels, lobster, ratte potatoes, Merguez sausage and sweetcorn (you will need a bib).
Washing the crab feast down, we were invited to try specialty Tavern Iced Teas… which was a heady, tropical spin on a killer Long Island Iced Tea.
As an edible full stop, we were treated to a homemade apple pie served with organic ice cream as well a very much un-needed yet absolutely gorgeous chocolate Brownie stack.
Bringing something new to London, just as London is seeing a new wave of American food trends arriving,
Crab Tavern offers a contemporary approach to good old-fashioned American fun, food and service.
