But it’s not just her presence that grabbed our attention. Organised by the good people that host one of our favourite summer havens – Bestival – Common People is only £55 for the weekend or £30 for one day and will be showcasing music from the likes of Fat Boy Slim, De La Soul and Kitty, Daisy & Lewis.
We’re particularly looking forward to visiting the Day of the Dead Cocktail Bus: a hand-painted American school bus serving an array of refreshing and eclectic cocktails while a line-up of DJs provides the sound.
If, like us, the street food offerings are a fundamental part of your festival experience, you won’t be disappointed here. With a permanent residency in London’s Soho, Bunnychow will be serving up filled South African bread loaves and Bangwok will serve some of the best Pad Thai around. There will be loads of locals there too offering the very best food from Southampton.
