Now soft-open, Monikers of Hoxton Square is housed in a former primary school, namely at its gym and chemistry lab. Cheekily referencing its former glory and filled with schooled themed artefacts (report card for feedback, blackboard for specials, beaker for water), Monikers HSQ is a jolly self-ironic addition to Hoxton’s hottest dining destination, Hoxton Square.
The venue boasts a dining room and a terrace, perfect for those warm nights out in Shoreditch, and a private dining room for your more secret soirees. The unpretentious Modern European menu will change regularly and is based on seasonally available produce. A hefty mix of fresh greens and meat, meat, meat from confit wild duck legs to soy-braised short ribs to grilled bacon chop with pancetta, there’s always something on the menu for those that appreciate strong fresh flavours and fuzz free cooking. The wine list is short but carefully selected, the beers craft and adventurous cocktail list has some home brewed infusions and syrups in it.
