A ‘Chardonnay revival’ is upon our foodie nation! To celebrate the rediscovered love for this stylish grape, the 1853 Club, a pop-up wine bar experience by Hardys wine, opens its doors in London to celebrate International Chardonnay Day on 23rd May 2014, with the help of musician and cheese maker, Alex James.
Guests can ease into the Spring bank holiday weekend and expand their knowledge and palates by sampling a range of Hardys’ Chardonnays, such as the award-winning, flagship Chardonnay Eileen Hardy, alongside a specially paired menu of artisan cheeses from the ‘Alex James Presents’ range.
To learn more about the grape, guests will also be given the opportunity to experience intimate and light-hearted Chardonnay and cheese pairing sessions, hosted by wine experts, Miss Bouquet and Winebird. The pairing sessions include a glass of Bubbly on arrival, an exclusive half hour tasting session and a wine token to redeem in the bar post-tasting.
